Stellar Competition at Snipe Worlds

The Circolo Vela Talamone in Tuscany hosted the semi-annual Snipe World Championship.  Eighty-three teams, representing 18 nations and hailing from four continents went to battle this past week for the coveted Isaac Hubbs Trophy.   Kathleen and her skipper, two-time Snipe World Champion Augie Diaz, were the top placing American team, finishing the Championship in an impressive seventh place.  Kathleen was the only female sailor in the Top 10.        



SSL Lake Grand Slam

Grandson, Switzerland was the backdrop for the Star Sailor’s League (SSL) Lake Grand Slam.  Sixty-seven teams from 3 continents competed for prize money on Lake Lausanne.  Thirteen Olympic medalists were on-hand to vy for the purse.  Kathleen was once again in the SSL studio with fellow broadcasters, Digby Fox (England) and Tyler Bjorn (Canada) to provide viewers with exciting play by play action out on the water. Magic in Marsala – a windsurfing paradise

Pan American Games Underway in Toronto

The Canadians are putting on a show.  The Pan American Games are underway in Toronto after an amazing Opening Ceremonies. The International Olympic Committee puts on the Games are every four years in the year preceding the Olympics. Tocke and Diaz were a part of Team USA for the 2011 Games, where they earned a silver medal.  This year, their sights are set on gold. Sicily – Land of Sweet Sand & Sunshine

Every year the World Festival on the Beach in Mondello (Palermo), Italy welcomes windsurfers to its stunning waters on the coast of Sicily.  This year, RSX sailors from around the world arrived in droves for the RSX European Championship.  Kathleen flew direct from her win at the Regata Nazionale in Tuscany to Palermo. Diaz & Tocke Second at Regata Nazionale Italia

Lights, Cameras, Action!

Fantoni & Tocke – Crowned Adriatic Champions at Piada Trophy

After being the Piada Trophy runner-up four-times, Kathleen finally claimed the title with Italian teammate, Pietro Fantoni.  The Piada Trophy is the second stop on the Snipe Class Summer Circuit.   The victory also established Fantoni and Tocke as Adriatic Champions. Spring Training & European Circuit

Every spring, aspiring Olympic sailors from around the globe travel to Europe for training and competition.  The first stop is Palma, Mallorca, Spain for the Trofeo Princesa Sofia.  This year, Kathleen was coached by Christophe Boutet of France.  After a year off from the windsurfing circuit, it has been a tough climb to get back to form, in a year when all the athletes are at their peak, each vying for their country’s Olympic spot.
