Spring Training & European Circuit

Tocke Racing in RSX Fleet in Trentino Week 2015 Lago di GardaEvery spring, aspiring Olympic sailors from around the globe travel to Europe for training and competition.  The first stop is Palma, Mallorca, Spain for the Trofeo Princesa Sofia.  This year, Kathleen was coached by Christophe Boutet of France.  After a year off from the windsurfing circuit, it has been a tough climb to get back to form, in a year when all the athletes are at their peak, each vying for their country’s Olympic spot.

After Palma, the next event on the schedule was the Trentino Olympic week on Italy’s Lake Garda, followed by three weeks training in Brest, France with fellow US Teammate Farrah Hall and Canadian Laurence Bonneau-Charland.   While Brest is known for rain and cold, it also offers a variety of great sailing conditions.  The American girls trained and competed daily with French RSX sailors, in preparation for the upcoming RSX European Championships in Palermo Italy
